Austin, Texas is a fantastic city to visit in the summer. It has many open spaces like Domain Central Park, Zilker Park and Red Bud Isle for you to soak up the hot weather. Also, there is a variety of outdoor swimming locations for you to cool down. My favourite is Barton Springs Municipal Pool which is located on the grounds of Zilker Park. it is a great place to have fun and chill out with family and friends.

If you are a food lover then this a city for you. Austin has a wide variety of restaurants. Being in Texas you are surrounded by a rich culture of food. Texans love their meat so you can easily find a place to chow down on a rack of ribs or sink your teeth into a juicy steak. P.S. Don't forget to visit Buc-ee's. Everything in Texas is BIGGER.

9. Toronto

Downtown Toronto

Downtown Toronto

Toronto in Ontario is one of my much-loved cities in Canada. it's modern and vibrant with plenty of shops, restaurants, and attractions. There are numerous amounts of attractions like the Hockey Hall of Fame, St Lawrence Market, the Royal Ontario Museum, and the CN Tower. All of which makes for a great day out. I particularly enjoyed the CN Tower edge walk. The whole experience was thrilling and the views were amazing. However, this activity isn't for the faint-hearted as it’s 356m/1168ft above the ground.

Washington the capital city of the USA is a substantial place for anyone interested in their history. There are lots of museums to choose from like, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Smithsonian Museums, and the National Gallery of Art. And if that isn't enough for you why not try a guided bike tour of Washington's monuments? It is the perfect way to see famous sights like the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Also, don't forget to visit the White House, there are guided tours but make sure you book in advance.

7. New Orleans

French Quarter

New Orleans, Louisiana is a city full of life. At the heart of the French Quarter lies Bourbon Street where the nightlife comes alive. There are many restaurants, bars, and strip clubs to choose from. Whether you want good food, live music or just embracing the culture. Bourbon Street is the place to be. In the daytime, you can appreciate the architecture of the French Quarter. It is a great place to walk around. You get a feel for the southern culture in this city.

6. San Francisco

Presidio of San francisco (Crissy Field)

Presidio of San francisco (Crissy Field)

San Francisco, California is a beautiful and relaxing place to visit. The people are easygoing and friendly. Unlike other cities, San Francisco has a laid-back atmosphere. With its many open spaces like Golden Gate Park and Lake Merced Park, where you can easily have a much-needed break. The city has a variety of attractions on offer like Alcatraz, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Fisherman's Wharf.

However, The Golden Gate Bridge is the top sight to see. There are a many amazing locations to get a photo, e.g. at Crissy Field, Hawk Hill, and Battery Spencer. And why not take a cruise in the San Francisco Bay for a unique view of the city and bridge? P.S. A trip to San Francisco wouldn't be complete without a ride on the famous cable cars.

5. Nashville

Downtown Nashville (Broadway)

Downtown Nashville (Broadway)

I fell in love with my visit to Nashville. The whole music scene is inspiring with its legendary country music venues. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding live music, e.g. The Station Inn, The Grand Ole Opry House, Legends Corner, and Robert's Western World. Also, a night out down Broadway is a must. And if you are still looking for music-related attractions then check out the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the Music City Walk of Fame Park.

If country music isn't your thing Nashville has much more to offer like, the Lane Motor Museum, Centennial Park, the Zoo at Grassmere and, a variety of shops and restaurants.

4. Quebec

Place Royale

Place Royale

Out of all of the cities I have been to in North America, Quebec is by far the most unique and different. It has the look and the feel of a European city with its narrow streets and European-styled buildings. The French culture is completely overwhelming for someone who is visiting for the first time. It is helpful to know a bit of the French language as the majority of people speak French.

Old Quebec is an absolute gem and a wonderful place to walk around. It has rich historic landmarks like the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac and the Notre-Dame de Quebec Basilica Cathedral. Also, you will find many quirky local shops and art galleries which will make for a great day out.

3. New York

Time Square

Time Square

This list wouldn't be complete without New York. Everyone loves the big apple for its world-famous sights like Time Square. Time Square is an amazing place to do a spot of people-watching. You see all walks of life passing through this bustling part of Manhattan. No matter what time you visit, there is always something to see in the Theater District.

There are endless amounts of things to see and do in this buzzing city. You could explore the grounds of Central Park and watch some locals play Baseball in the summer. Or try out ice skating in the winter. But if you just want great photos of the city landscape then you should visit the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, or the Rockefeller Center. And, shopping is a great experience in New York with its famous department stores like Macy's.

P.S. if you want to see the real New York then head over to the Bronx.

2. Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip

I have been to a variety of different cities around the world and Las Vegas is by far the craziest place I have ever been to. As one friend said to me Vegas is like Disneyland but only for adults. The atmosphere down the Vegas strip is electric with its many bars, clubs, and casinos. However, it's not all about casinos and gambling but that does entice a lot of people to come.

You can have different types of holidays here. Whether you enjoy relaxing by a pool in the sun, undertaking an adrenaline activity, or just taking in the sights. You are bound to find something that is suitable. Why not take a day trip outside of the city? The Hoover Dam, Area 51, Death Valley National Park, and Grand Canyon National Park are fantastic places to visit.

P.S. don't miss out on Downtown Vegas where you will find the Mob Museum.

1. Vancouver

Downtown Vancouver

Downtown Vancouver

Vancouver is my favourite city in North America with its stunning backdrop views of the Pacific Ocean and mountain range. The harbour and Grouse Mountain are among some of the most scenic places in Vancouver. And if you love the outdoors then you'll love the open spaces like Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Stanley Park. Stanley Park Downtown is an excellent location to hire a bike and cycle around. With its winding paths and sea views.

Vancouver has a variety of things to see and do. From its Museums and galleries to its bars and restaurants. Be sure to check out Granville Island for its public market offering a mix of edibles and collectables. And if that isn't enough then take a float plane from Canada Place (Downtown) to Whistler for a day trip or even longer. Whistler (120km from Vancouver) is an impressive year-round resort with many outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, and wildlife watching.
